Ladakh is the highest plateau in India with most of it being over 3,000 m (9,800 ft). It extends from the Himalayan to the Kunlun Ranges and includes the upper Indus River valley. Ladakh is most famous for breathtaking landscapes, the crystal clear skies, the highest mountain passes, thrilling adventure activities, Buddhist Monasteries and festivals. Leh is the capital city, as well as the largest district of Ladakh, located in the northeastern part of the region. The adventure capital of the country, Ladakh is famous for the top three highest motorable mountain passes in the world. This is the reason to why Ladakh gets the name as Roof of the World. It is also famous for Tibetan and Buddhism culture.

ARRIVAL AT LEH AIRPORT AND TRANSFER TO HOTELl (5 Km 10 Mints).
Arrive at Leh, Meet & greet and transfer to the hotel. Relax for the rest of the day to acclimatize to the rarefied air of the high Himalayan Plateau.

LEH LOCAL SIGHTSEEING- Starting at 10.30 AM.
Leh hotel – Shanti Stupa – Leh Monastery – Leh Palace – Hall Of Fame – Kali Mandir – Leh Hotel Market visit – Leh hotel. Shanti Stupa: Around 5 km from Leh, Shanti Stupa is a white-domed Chorten located on a hilltop in Chanspa, built between 1983 and 1991. Overlooking Leh town, it is one of the best attractions in Leh.To celebrate the completion of 2500 years of Buddhism and to promote world peace, this stupa was commissioned by Japanese monks. The walls have gilt panels that depict the life of Lord Buddha. Sunrise and sunset are wonderful from here. On the first of this two-storied structure is a Buddha statue sitting on a pedestal, turning the Dharmachakra.
Royal Leh Palace : Constructed way back in 1553 AD, located on the top of the deserted Tsemo Hill, Leh Palace is the former residence of the erstwhile royal family of Leh. The palace shares a resemblance to the Potala Palace of Lhasa. Slightly smaller, it is built of stones, sand, wood, and mud. Also known as Lhachen Palkhar, it is open from 07:00 AM to 04:00 PM (every day). This 9-storied structure now has a museum with royal belongings. The fort is in a slightly ruined condition, but the views from the top are stunning. This structure is currently managed by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). In the second half of the 19th century, it was attacked by the Dogra forces and thus abandoned by the royal family, who shifted to the Stok Palace.
Hall of Fame – A War Museum in Leh: Located close to Leh Airport, on Leh-Spituk Gompa road, the Hall of Fame is a military war museum maintained by the Indian Army, showcasing the arms, clothing, pictures, and pictorial histories of many wars that India fought in the last many decades. Hall of Fame is worth visiting for all to know how Indian soldiers fought various tough wars. It has housed the memories of the brave soldiers who lost their lives during the Indo-Pakistan wars. This war hero’s memorial has a souvenir shop and artifacts of various wars. Hall of Fame has many old weapons and clothing used by soldiers many decades back and also arms and artifacts used in the Kargil war. A special section has arms and clothing used by soldiers stationed at Siachen glacier.

LEH – NUBRA VALLEY (125 KMS) VIA KHARDUNG LA PASS.(Starting at 8.30 AM)
Leh hotel – Khurdungla Pass 18380 ft (Highest motor ridable point in the world) – Car / Bike racing – Camel Ride Hunder – Nubra Camp Khardung La Pass : Known as the ‘Gateway to Nubra and Shyok Valleys’, Khardung La is one of the highest motorable roads in the world, at an elevation of 5359 m above sea level. One of the 12 best places to visit in Leh Ladakh is around 40 km from Leh. Also called the ‘Pass of Lower Castle’, it opened for vehicles in 1988.This road is quite popular among motorbiking enthusiasts. Enjoy tea and refreshment at the army canteen as you listen to the fluttering sound of the colorful Tibetan prayer flags. The views are awe-inspiring. There is a souvenir shop here from where you can buy some memorabilia. It is also used by the Indian Army to carry supplies to the Siachen Glacier.
Nubra Valley: One of the places to see in Ladakh, the paradisiacal Nubra Valley, is a tri-armed valley that lies 150 km northeastwards of Leh. Perched at an altitude of 3048 m above sea level, this valley has the confluence of Shyok and Siachen Rivers, white sand deserts, double-humped camels, rich, lush villages, shining streams, and craggy mountain peaks. The valley has abundant scenic beauty as it lies peacefully on the slopes of the Karakoram mountain range. Hop onto the back of Bactrian camels and explore the valley.

NUBRA VALLY TO PANGONG LAKE (135 km + 220 km) Starting at 10.30 AM.
Nubra Camp – Sham Valley – Shyok Road – Shey And Thikse – Indus Valley – Pangong Lake – Camp at Pangong. Pangong Lake, situated at a height of almost 4,350m, is the world’s highest saltwater lake. Its water, which seems to be dyed in blue, stand in stark contrast to the arid mountains surrounding it.
Sham Valley, Indus Valley or Western Ladakh is one of the highest populated region of Ladakh. Sham Valley is also the most fertile ground and hence agricultural hub of Leh District. Sham region is popular of for apricot, walnut and second crop due to its lower altitude and better temperature in summer.
Thiksey Monastery :Apart from being the largest monastery of Central Ladakh, the monastery is also famous for its 49 ft tall statue of Maitreya Buddha in the lotus position, covering two floors of the monastery. The statue was built to commemorate the 14th Dalai Lama’s visit to Thiksey Monastery in the year 1970.

PANGONG TO LEH (Starting at 09.30 AM)
Camp at Pangong – Spangmik Glacier – Snow- Capped Peaks – Chang La Pass of 17380 ft – Leh Hotel.
Chang La Pass : Chang La Pass is located at an altitude of almost 5,360 meters and gets its name after a famous saint called Changla Baba. A temple that stands here is dedicated to him. The pass itself is about 15 kilometers long and is maintained by the Indian Army. The entire stretch of Chang La Pass is composed of loose dirt & slush on either side and during summers, is cut by small streams across the road, which makes crossing it a challenge.
Spangmik is a settlement on the southern bank of the Pangong Lake in Ladakh, India. It is located between Lukung and Man. Tourists visiting the Pangong Lake in India are allowed to travel up to Spangmik, beyond which it is considered sensitive border area with China.
